Each day will feature 1 round of 18 (Tee times will be assigned)
tee times will be available on the PDGA event page

Field events will take place on Saturday only

If your tee time is later in the morning, you will need to do field events before your round.  Field events qualifying will close at 4 pm.

Field events will consist of:

Distance, longest of 6 drives

Accuracy, 3 throws per stage, 6 stages, total in goal

Putting, best score out of 18 putts, round 9, two putts per stage

The use of your own discs will be possible this year, at least a minimum of 6 discs will be required for each category and must all be thrown before retrieving any.

A point system will be applied to each area of competition, to determine the overall winner in every division.  Winners of individual categories will be recognized as well as the overall winners in all divisions.  Format subject to change at TD’s discretion

  • $500 Minimum added to pro purse
  • All amateurs will receive a custom stamped disc with event logo
  • All competitors receive an Arnold Sports Expo Pass, which allows you access to all areas any events, Friday through Sunday. Wristbands will be available at Friday practice for those who want to attend any Arnold events.

4:00 pm (estimated) | Awards shortly after all disc golf rounds are over.

Field event awards will be available Sunday to those looking to leave before awards.  Disc golf payouts can be ready after your divisions scores are completed, for those looking to leave before awards.

American Diabetes Association

 

 

NEW this year, a Bullseye Contest!

This contest will run all weekend, and will end when last card turned in Sunday.

Twenty five percent of money collected will be donated to the American Diabetes Association.

We will be throwing off the hill nearest to 18 down to the flat area inside the walking trail. Roughly 200-250′ depending on conditions.

The Bullseye will have four rings with a basket sitting in the center of the smallest ring.

Scoring is as follows: Five Throws
Ace (bullseye) – 5 pts
Rings point range: 1-4 pts, best score would be 25

Top 5 participants with the best score will be in a throw-off Sunday before the awards. All ties will playoff. Throw off contestants get 5 throws. Best total of those five throws wins the cash. All others in throw off win a prize.

75% of $ will go to winner
25% of $ will go to American Diabetes Association
All others in throw off win a prize.

This ice bowl is being ran under the PDGA Endowment program.  So the $10 PDGA non-member fee is waived and the PDGA donates $2 per player to our charity.

We will have some Ice Bowl Discs and minis available.

Let’s have some fun and raise a lot of money to help feed less fortunate people going through tough times.

  • 2 rounds of 18
  • 1st round everyone short tees
  • 2nd round Pro/Adv – long tees, Int/Rec/novice – short tees

27 hole first round, 18 holes glow round using modified format (excluding 5/6/7/A/B/F/I/17/18)

All Pro/Advanced divisions will play first round from the long tees and Glow round from the short tees

All other divisions will play two rounds of short tees

Entry fee includes Fazoli’s dinner and Columbus Flyers glow in the dark wristband

Griggs Parking lot closure

Aug. 8-14th the US Open will be taking place at the Scioto Country Club.  With this, Scioto Country Club has asked that we partner with them under a parking agreement for their volunteers and staffing for the event.  This will require closure of some of the parking areas throughout Griggs and the Disc Golf Course is one of those temp. closures.  The Golf Course will NOT be closed for play, just the parking area.  As an alternative, however, parking will be limited to the upper location, near the CPD building and Griggs Maintenance Office.

Hey everyone.

Wanted to give you a bit more information about the upcoming Ultimate and Disc Golf Charity event called Andy 24.

The event is open to players of all experience levels and runs for 24 hours straight from Friday July 29th at 7pm to Saturday July 30th at 7pm.  For Ultimate, you sign up for a specific time block/blocks that you are available to play.  Please keep in mind that we typically need extra players on Saturday (all time blocks) to keep momentum rolling through the end of the event.  For Disc Golf, you play any time, day and/or night – baskets will have glow sticks – as much as you want.

We support local charities such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus and Compassionate Friends.  Both are very good causes and are extremely appreciative of the money that we are able to raise on their behalf.  We recently gave $4000 to Boys and Girls Club and $2500 to Compassionate Friends and over the years of the event, Andy 24 has donated more than $75,000 total.

The event is named after Andy Starinchak who was a big part of the Columbus Ulitmate community who was taken from us before his time.  His parents come to the event each year and are immeasurably grateful to the participants who help keep the event going.

2. hourly raffles for players ranging from shirts, shorts, discs, to sporting event tickets and memorabilia to overnight hotel stays.
3. great way to give to charity – by playing Disc!!!!
